I have a feeling there will be a few more turds than gems, but I also think I will have some fun on the way. As you can see from the list, I wasn't big on Sly for whatever reason so that's 1/2 the list. I never had much interest in martial arts movies either, but in my old age I seem to...
This is going to be a really fun deep dive. One big movie blind spot I have is action movies. I just listened to The Last Action Heroes and that hammered this home even more. I loved the book, but there were so many titles talked about that I have never seen.
Here is just the start...
The Last Action Heroes
Loved this book. A fun, fast read about 7-8 key 80s/early 90s action stars and some info about them and some of the movies. I can't recommend it enough for people around the movie threads.

I haven't watched the behind the scenes, so this is just be me guessing: I think they cast for music talent first, acting second. Where I think Linklater is perfect for this is because of his style we've touched on before where he seems perfectly happy with meandering around and capturing...
I also watched the Before Trilogy yet again. I have thoughts, but I think I will save them for the end of the month and see if anybody has watched them as well this month. I don't know how to talk about Before without spoiling stuff.
I am about 1/2 way done with reading The Last Detail and...
School of Rock
HUGE hit with the kiddo. She was bouncing up and down and had a fist in the air during the final songs and laughed a lot throughout. Sure, it's a bit more crass than anything we've watched yet, but some stuff goes over kids heads anyway. What's left after that like 80s...
