Caitlin Clark’s rookie salary is $76,000

I don't know if trolling is the right word, but it's kind of the same thing you see in soccer threads around World Cup time. Somebody watches 5 minutes of a game for the first time in their life, identifies a bunch of things that have to change immediately or they'll never tune in again, posts...

2023-24 NBA (Playoffs!) Thread: Mavs - Boston it is

I would hope he sees the value of shooting, since that’s the only thing he was good at as a player. When the best shooter in the organization is the 48-year-old team president, that’s a problem.

When I read that the new Pistons prez would have the power to fire Weaver, I was thinking… is there anyone who wouldn’t do that? No idea if Langdon will be able to clean up this mess but at least he got the really easy one right.

Serious Biz Dynasty Year 17 - Plenty of talent on the come

I'm looking forward to you winning one and then complaining that it's impossible to stay on top thanks to all the rule changes you fought for while you were on the bottom. I thought I had this league broken before that little legal issue in the DR. Now I'm just hoping I can hang on for 3.

Yeah, a lot of this game is finding the market inefficiencies wherever they are. I look at FDAS this season. He dropped a lot of fringy prospects for MLB contributors and has been up in the mix for 3rd. Maybe it's not a great long-term strategy but it beats tearing it all down every couple years.

Serious Biz Dynasty Year 17 - Plenty of talent on the come

I was in a dynasty league for a couple years that had a 15-minor minimum on a 40-man roster (also fewer starting spots and 5 IL). There were some positives, but what I didn't like was that it was hard to hold newly promoted players who weren't ready to contribute, which in turn made all that...

Some past evidence from the thread of players having lots of minor leaguers. If I'm reading that first post correctly, PIK had 22 MiLB guys at one point. Jake obviously did not literally have 52, but 20+ seems likely.

Caitlin Clark’s rookie salary is $76,000

I remember when Bill Laimbeer was coaching in the WNBA and would pop up in NBA rumors, he always said he preferred his WNBA job because they were playing the 80s/90s NBA style basketball he knows and loves, while the NBA was moving a different direction. It's kind of ironic that the old school...

Iran Launches "Large Scale Attack" on Israel (?)

I've always found Iran's government fascinating. It's a lovely Western-style democracy with no real power because it has to answer to the Supreme Leader and his unelected Guardian Council. Two of their last four presidents have been reform-minded and interested in better relations with the...

With tongue in cheek. We've all got injuries, but somebody still has to win. Navigating them sucks and requires making tough decisions but it can be done. Agreed. Right now the wire stays fairly strong throughout the year. Tough cuts become someone else's opportunities. I made the decision...

I’m excited about the Pistons draft. Two guys projected to go around #5 are Matas Buzelis and Zacharrie Risacher, both the type of offensively skilled forward that would fit perfectly alongside their current core. G: Cunningham G: Ivey F: Ausar F: Buzelis / Risacher C: Duren Give that group 3...

    PieLeeg HQ: Magic Beisbol Extravaganza

It's not every day you get 8 RBI from Shea Langeliers  I've been very resentful of him ever since I picked him up and dropped d'Arnaud, who hit 3 HR the next day. Now all is forgiven.
