It's really a story that is so unfinished and the mission so vague that one wonders what is going on. And to break protocol and leak stuff to the press from inside the DOJ (if I read it correctly) smacks of an eerie malfeasance that I don't like. It makes the hair stand up on my neck.

One can only hope our elected officials are good men doing good things for our good, because this raid and disappearance sounds like a pretty serious thing. If not serious, then its operational tactics seem draconian and overstepping, at least.

Perhaps he really warrants this. But this is worthy of public disclosure now.

I think even if you were divide us into sides, one side has the Deep State thing going on and the other side still remembers Hoover and the late 60s, so there's always a bit of dander to be raised when you start hearing stories like this one.

Keep in mind, it's Rolling Stone, so fake and misleading articles or passion articles aren't beneath them...but then again, it's Rolling Stone, who can knock the ball out of the park at times, especially when the state oversteps its boundaries. That's when they're on top of it, actually. Rolling Stone calls for gov't intervention, one should approach it with caution. Their positive rights articles are generally pabulum. But if they warn you about state encroachments on freedom, one is served well to at least consider the story.

This seems like something out of a movie. At first, my inclination was to think that maybe he did something bad non-journalism related (e.g. child porn). But then in re-reading the article and specifically the lawyer's official statement and denial that actually was an admission - he clearly had some classified information and is under investigation because of it. The weirdness around him completely falling off the map and abruptly resigning from all his posts sends my curiosity to 11. I really want to know what this guy had his hands on.

Tin foil hat theory based on undertones from the article and what he was working on - the US is actively helping Ukraine in their war beyond supplying weapons and monetary support and he was uncovering it.

Either way this is an incredibly interesting story that unfortunately we will never know how it ends.

I’ll concede it’s an interesting story but when I read this story I see a guy who was already secretive and mysterious and decided to bail on his job and book project. I could easily see that once the FBI got what they were there for that he decided to get out of the game. I think the article would have a whole lot more weight to it if the people being interviewed were close to him - instead it seems like a bunch of folks who knew him as acquaintances but didn’t really know him.

I have no doubt it COULD be something nefarious but there could just as easily be some explanation for it.

Cox was an ex-politician who stole millions from clients and used fraud to obtain loans. Those are real crimes. Project Vertas was raided simply because they had a Biden diary obtain by means legal for journalists which they even turned over to authorities long before being raided. Meek's house was raided because he was writing a book critical of Biden.

Your analogy and deception is grossly off base and just demonstrates how intellectually dishonest the left has become. The left is criminalizing political enemies. Really disgusting and would be funny if these abuses were not serious attacks on the values of this country.
